Like I Really Needed This!

Facebook. Great. THE most addicting thing since James McAvoy, Edward Cullen, and coffee. How do you people do it?? I think I'm doing okay, reading a book, doing the dishes, and then I start thinking "ooh, I wonder if X is my friend now" and dash to the computer! Ah well, at least technically it's a social thing right? I'm a stay at home mom, I've got to have some kind of adult interaction throughout the day or I'll go insane. I can only act excited about Thomas the Train and Word World so much. And with our new super fast computer on top of that, wowza! OOH, and flair! Who knew flair could be so fun?? Anyways, if you've got it, add me to your friends!

Say... "Just Kill Me Now"

Trying to get a two year old to stay clean, be still, look in the right direction, and smile (or at least look happy) all at the same time is nearly, well completely, impossible. It just cannot happen. Still, what did I do this morning? Take my insanely crabby kid out for a couple 2.5 pictures. Yeah. That worked. The only decent thing that happened was we both made it out alive. And we got home right in time for lunch and naptime. Here are a few of our outtakes. Enjoy. If you click on the pictures, they'll get bigger. And yes, he's praying, probably praying that I don't kill him before the day is over.

Bella's Lullaby

My Twilight obsession continues, but in a way not quite so expected. A completely serious post from me for once! I've found what might be one of the most beautiful songs on the planet. Not sure how true it is or not about being the movie version of Bella's Lullaby (Edward composes a song for Bella in the books), but the song is breathtakingly beautiful, yet a bit... heavy. If you know what I mean. It kind of makes you think of everything possible that could go wrong, but then washes all that away and gives you a kind of hope that can conquer the world. In short, the epitome of Edward and Bella. Enough of my rambling, the song more than speaks for itself. Bella's Lullaby

Life Couldn't Get Any Better If...

John and I were discussing the Twilight movie coming soon (December 12th) and I asked him if he knew who was going to be playing Edward Cullen. His first guess, James McAvoy. Oh. My. Gosh. I'm pretty sure if that was true I'd die happily this very moment. James McAvoy, my one true love, playing Edward Cullen the current love of my life... yeah *gets a little tingly* But alas, it's too good to be true. He's actually being played by Robert Pattinson, who most of us know as Cedric Diggory (from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire). While I think he'll do a fine job as Edward (as well as any mere human could do...) I know the entire time I'll be going "Pull out your wand Cedric!" DOH! Well, for the purpose of umm... fantasy... let's imagine James as Edward until the movie comes out. He can be my vampire any time he wants!

I Heart Vampires

So I haven't done very good on my promise to keep this up to date. Oh well, I have a life, get over it. Nonetheless, I'm back. Why? To talk about the new love of my life, Edward Cullen. Who is that, I'm sure you're wondering. No, not our friend Cullen who we've mentioned before. That would be a bit awkward for our friendship, I'd assume. Edward Cullen is the main character in the Twilight series. A dashing, unbelievably intense, startlingly sexy, and super sweet vampire. Yes. A vampire. Kind of odd when some cold, dead, eternally damned vampire is the man of your dreams. I'm good with that though. Off to escape reality and read some more...

"Banana Bunker"

So the world of invention has been graced by the coolest thing since sliced bread, the Banana Bunker. An extremely odd, yet incredibly handy, way of keeping your banana from becoming squished in a backpack, diaperbag, or lunchbox. Personally, I think it looks a hell of a lot like something else. Protective design or ribbed for your pleasure? All I've got to say is watch out '08 church Christmas party, this is most definitely our white elephant gift this year! I'll probably pick one up for myself as well. You can never have too many banana bunkers!

Mama's Little Sadist

Unfortunately it seems I'm raising a sociopath. Or maybe just your run of the mill psycho. Today he pushed a twin mattress over on the baby and then whacked him in the head with a metal cup. Not good. He looks too cute to be evil, but so do sheep and we all know how that goes.

WDYT, mini-psycho or sweet toddler learning the cause/effect theory in odd ways?

The Effects of Walking

I went walking tonight. As a form of exercise that is. I figured I'd get to the end of the street and double over in a life threatening asthma attack, but no such luck, I made it a whole mile, or close to a mile. We'll stick with "a mile" though because it sounds more impressive. My goal was to come home and not eat anything afterwards because I'd already had dinner, but a cursed banana chocolate chip loaf was staring at me and I succumbed to temptation. I felt guilty about eating that, which lead to me eating my feelings and having some popcorn. Crap.

And so it starts...

I've contemplated this whole blog thing for a long time. I generally have nothing of importance to say (or I do, but this will be much more light hearted than that), and I ramble a lot, but I figured hey, why not be like everyone else. I haven't seen many other people's that are overly incredible either. So if mine is mundane, I figure it's not any worse than the other 5.2 million mundane blogs. At least I'll try to keep mine active. That's something.
